Amazingly simple slow cooker caramelised onions to use in a variety of dishes!
Four to five onions halved and thinly sliced
3 tbsp of melted butter
Salt and pepper to taste
Half your onions and discard skins. Cut into 3mm to 5mm slices. Place onions in the slow cooker.
Melt 3 tbsp of butter and pour over onions.
Season with salt and pepper and mix.
Set your slow cooker to low and cook for 10 hours (great overnight)
After 10 hours mix, your onions then continue to cook leaving your lid ajar to reduce the liquid.
Cook for approximately 3 more hours stirring occasionally until the liquid has reduced and you have lovely golden coloured onions.
Onions will keep in fridge for up to three days or freeze for three months.
